IOWA CITY, IOWA - Freshman Lizzie Rae scored both of Wake Forest's goals in the Demon Deacons' 2-1 victory over No. 19 Michigan to finish out play in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge, hosted by Iowa.

Wake Forest improves to 2-0 with the win and Michigan falls to 0-2 in the opening weekend of the 2009 season.

Rae tipped in a shot from Hilary Moore in the first half and followed up with a goal in the opening minute of the second half when she sent in a deflected shot. Melissa Martin had the assist.

Rae, a rookie from Christchurch, New Zealand, has started in both Wake Forest games, but did not record any stats in the opening match against Iowa.

Alicia Mayer scored the lone goal for the Wolverines with 30 seconds remaining in the contest when she converted on a corner.

Wake Forest out-shot Michigan 20-7 and the Wolverines recorded 11 saves to Wake's two. Julia Young was the Wake Forest goalkeeper for the second consecutive game.

Next up for Wake Forest is the first of two matchups with North Carolina, slated for September 4 in Chapel Hill. The match will not count towards conference points.
