New Golf Center Construction - UPDATE
9/2/2009 12:00:00 AM | Women's Golf
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The construction process of the new golf facility on campus is flying along. It seemed like the process just started last week and the workers are now almost ready to start laying sod.
The final shaping of the land is taking place this week and the irrigation system is being put down. The workers are also shaping the land for the practice greens. If everything goes to plan, the sod will begin to be laid down sometime next week.
Phase one of the project also includes the new indoor hitting center. Construction on that will begin once the land is shaped and sodded. Hopefully, the building will be completed in time for the team to use it this spring. It will feature hitting bays with a full range of cameras to analyze the swing. It will also have a putting room that will have a number of cameras as well.
The second phase of the process will be the construction of the Golf House. The state-of-the-art facility will house offices for both coaches, separate team locker rooms as well as an indoor putting green and a club repair room.
Stay tuned to WakeForestSports.com for more photos of the construction process.
