Rain Shortens Play at UGA Intercollegiates

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team wrapped up play at Georgia's Southern Intercollegiate tournament on Sunday. Most doubles and consolation matches were cancelled due to rain, but overall the Demon Deacons claimed eight wins with only three losses.
Steven Forman, who earned a 10-seed in Division I singles, finished 2-0, defeating Alan Donald of Wofford and Leon Nasemann of Memphis. Junior Iain Atkinson also claimed two wins in D-I singles, downing Winthrop's Nadav Ruppin and Vanderbilt's Bryan Salcedo in straight sets.
Jeff Zinn brought three of Wake Forest's freshmen to Athens. Danny Kreyman posted two wins in Division II singles, taking out Georgia Tech's Doug Kenny and Alabama's Trey Walston. Conner Sherwood defeated UNC-Wilmington's Kosta Blank 6-4, 6-3 before bowing out to Vanderbilt's Charlie Jones 6-2, 6-3. Amogh Prabhakar dropped his only match to UCF's Blaze Schwartz 6-4, 6-4.
The Deacons are headed to Charlottesville this weekend for UVA's Ranked +1 Tournament.
