Talbert, Cutillo Sweep Flights to Finish WFU Fall Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -Play in the Wake Forest Fall Invitational concluded on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Demon Deacon Kathryn Talbert went 4-0 in singles to sweep the B draw and sophomore Ryann Cutillo also went 4-0 to sweep the C Draw.
Wake Forest also saw a strong performance from sophomore Martina Pavelec, who is in her first year of eligibility with the Demon Deacons. Pavelec, a Stuttgart, Germany native, defeated two players ranked in the ITA preseason Top 20. Pavelec downed Duke's 19th-ranked Ellah Nze 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 as well as Duke's 13th-ranked Reka Zsilinszka 6-4, 6-3.
Junior Emilee Malvehy finished 2-2 in the A singles draw, topping Kelly Tidwell from Richmond and Virginia Berry from Davidson. Junior Katarina Reveche finished 2-2 in B Singles, downing Illinois' Marisa Lambropoulos and Old Dominion's Juliana Pires.
Next weekend the Demon Deacons will compete in the All-American qualifiers, held in Malibu, Calif.
