Wake Forest Tops Charlotte 7-0

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team improved to 3-0 with a 7-0 victory over Charlotte on Saturday afternoon Winston-Salem.
Charlotte falls to 1-0 with the loss.
Wake Forest dominated doubles action with 8-1 wins across the board. Senior Sasha Kulikova and freshman Kathryn Talbert improved to 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with their 8-1 victory over Charlotte's Andrea Rivera and Alex Zinn.
Sasha Kulikova and Kathryn Talbert played at the top two slots in singles. Kulikova took a 6-0, 6-1 win over Zinn at No. 1 and Talbert was the first Demon Deacon to finish, taking a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Andrea Rivera at No. 2.
At No. 6 singles Aileen Davis dropped the first set to Candace Cunningham 6-1, but fought through the second to take a 6-4 win. In the super-tiebreaker Aileen rallied back from a 6-1 deficit to take a 13-11 victory and clinch the Charlotte sweep.
Next weekend Wake Forest is headed to Durham to face VCU in the opening round of the ITA Team Indoors Tournament.
