Women's Tennis Set to Compete in ITA Carolina Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team will begin its third tournament of the fall season on Thursday when it travels down Tobacco Road to Chapel Hill, N.C. to compete in the ITA Carolina Regional.

All six members of the team will participate in the event, which features the top players from the states of North and South Carolina, with main draw doubles and qualifying singles beginning play on Thursday.

The Deacon doubles team of Emilee Malvehy and Kathryn Talbert received a bye in the first round and will await the winner of the match between Ashley Miller-Christy Stipes (NC State) and Jenny Lunde-Ioana Oprea (Gardner-Webb). The duo of Kayla Duncan and Martina Pavelec are seeded fifth and will face Furman's tandem of Amanda Murray and Katherine Oudin.

In the qualifying singles draw, Anna Mydlowska is seeded third and will open against Victoria Austin of North Carolina A&T.
