Weekly Recap:
Wake Forest fell in its only game of the past week, dropping a 3-1 decision at No. 3 Maryland on Saturday night.

The Demon Deacons are now 5-7-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Redshirt sophomore defender Danny Wenzel scored his first goal of the season against Maryland. With the goal, Wenzel now has three points on the season. Sophomore midfielder Ben Newnam also made the scoresheet against the Terrapins, assisting on Wenzel's goal for his first helper of the season.

Redshirt senior goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald made six saves and allowed three goals in the loss to Maryland. Fitzgerald now has a 1.18 goals against average on the season with 62 saves.

Maryland jumped out to a 2-0 lead after goals from Paul Torres in the 30th minute and Casey Townsend in the 63rd minute. Wake Forest got a goal closer in the 68th minute on Wenzel's goal, but Maryland was able to get its two-goal lead back in the 83rd minute on a score from Matt Kassel.

Wake Forest is back in action with a pair of games this week. The Deacs travel to Elon on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. contest, before returning home to host Boston College on Saturday in the regular season home finale. Start time against the Eagles is set for 7 p.m. The 2010 Wake Forest senior class will be honored before the match against BC.
