Wake Forest Head Coach Dino Gaudio

Opening statement...
"I thought that was a really good ACC win for us. I thought it was hard-fought, really competitive game. I told the kids that I was proud of them. I think we beat a hungry, wounded basketball team. And we knew those guys were going to step up without [Joe] Trapani, and Tyler Roche played just terrific. I don't know if Al [Skinner] told you guys but we talked and those baskets were really three feet round on both sides because everything was going in there tonight. I thought the kids really shared the ball - 19 assists, 12 turnovers - and I thought they really looked for one another. Our bench gave us a great lift. The guys coming off the bench - Gary Clark, David Weaver, Ari Stewart - they really gave us a good lift. [I'm] happy to be sitting at 7-3 with six more to play but good win for us."

On Boston College's field goal percentage...
"I think it's a credit to them. I watched the tape tonight and coaches will sit down and watch it. It looked like a couple times we lost Roche and sucked in too much on penetration when we know it should be a fake-and-fall situation when we're just bluffing it to the dribbler and closing out to him. But they made shots. We're a pretty good defensive team, and they made some tough shots tonight. I think Reggie Jackson's a really good player - really good - so I'm glad we made shots too. We didn't score a field goal for awhile but that's just going to happen when they're fouling you. We're going 17-for-22 down the stretch at the foul line, good job by those kids."

On upcoming game against Georgia Tech...
"They gave us a pretty good whooping down there. They beat us in every aspect of the game. I think Georgia Tech has really, really good players, and they're very well coached. They literally took it to us in Atlanta. They're a very physical team, and those two big guys were really a good combination."

Boston College Head Coach Al Skinner

On Wake Forest's strong shooting night...
"They just made shots. You have to give them some credit for running their offense. It was what we were anticipating, but we just didn't defend it very well, especially in the first half. I thought in the second half we did a better job than in the first half. We were very slow reacting. It was a little bit of everything -- with the spin and roll, some of the big fellows made some threes -- they just got into a rhythm and got real comfortable. It's just that simple. We didn't defend very well and gave them a lot of good opportunities to start the game."

On Tyler Roche...
"Joe (Trapani) being out obviously gave him an opportunity to get a lot of minutes tonight. He came in and more than filled the role. He did a good job of rebounding the basketball and shooting the ball. He had a terrific game. If a number of other people had given the kind of effort he gave, we would have been ok. Again, we put ourselves in a hole and you can't do that in this league on the road and expect to come back."

On what makes Wake Forest difficult to defend...
"(Ishmael) Smith's athleticism creates a lot of opportunities for them, so you have to really focus on that. He made a number of good plays to start the game and we didn't do a good job of handling that. He's the fuel in the engine. He's clearly the difference -- if he plays well they have a chance to be very good; if he doesn't play well then they're going to struggle."
