WILLIAMBURG, Va. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team fell 4-3 to William & Mary on Saturday in Williamsburg,Va. Wake Forest is now 6-7 for 2010 and the Tribe is 7-8.
Sasha Kulikova and Kathryn Talbert took the only Demon Deacon doubles win of the afternoon, downing Ragini Acharya and Nina Vulovich 8-2.
Kathryn Talbert tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Carmen Pop at No. 3 singles.
In her dual match debut Martina Pavelec topped Marlen Mesgarzadeh 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2.
Lauren Sabacinski defeated Ryann Cutillo 6-4, 6-1 and No. 5 and Acharya topped Kulikova at No. 1 to clinch the win.
Emilee Malvehy followed with a marathon 7-6 (0), 6-7 (4), 6-4 win over Vulovich at No. 4 to give Wake Forest its final point of the night.
The Demon Deacons will continue road play next weekend, traveling to Georgia Tech on Friday and Clemson on Sunday.
