WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Demon Deacon Sam Cronin assisted on the game-winning goal in Toronto FC's 1-0 win over New England. Here's a look at how other Deacs in the MLS fared during the last week.
Midfielder Corben Bone and Chicago did not have a match in the MLS this week. The Fire returns to action on Thursday, May 27, with a match at FC Dallas.
Midfielder Brian Carroll started both matches in a pair of wins for Columbus last week. Carroll has started eight games this season for the Crew, who has a 6-0-2 record and leads the Eastern Conference.
Midfielder Sam Cronin started and played 58 minutes in Toronto FC's 1-0 victory over New England. Cronin registered his first assist of the season against the Revolution, helping on the only goal of the match. For the season, Cronin has played in five games, including four starts.
Midfielder Austin da Luz did not play in New York's 3-1 loss to Columbus.
Goalkeeper Will Hesmer started in goal and earned a pair of wins for Columbus last week, including his fourth shutout of the season in a 1-0 win against Kansas City on Sunday. Hesmer has a 0.75 goals against average with a 6-0-2 record in net this season for the Crew.
Midfielder Michael Lahoud started and played 53 minutes in Chivas USA's 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake. Lahoud has played in six games, including five starts, with an assist on the season.
Defender Ike Opara did not play in San Jose's 1-0 win against Seattle. Opara has started four games this season for the Earthquakes and scored two goals.
Defender Pat Phelan started and played the entire 90 minutes in New England's 1-0 loss to Toronto FC. Phelan has played in 10 games this season for the Revolution, including nine starts.
Defender James Riley started and played the full 90 minutes in Seattle's 1-0 loss to San Jose. Riley has started nine games this season for the Sounders.
Forward Zack Schilawski entered as a substitute in the 65th minute in New England's 1-0 loss to Toronto FC. Schilawski has appeared in 10 games, including seven starts, this season for the Revolution with four goals scored.
Forward Scott Sealy entered as a substitute in the 68th minute of San Jose's 1-0 win over Seattle. Sealy has played in three games this season for the Earthquakes.
Midfielder Wells Thompson and Colorado did not have a match last week. The Rapids next match in the MLS is Saturday, May 29, against Seattle.
