
Ernst, Stadler Named to All-ACC Academic Baseball Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest redshirt senior Joel Ernst and sophomore Austin Stadler have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Baseball Team, as announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.
The honor marks the first time that Ernst and Stadler have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team during their collegiate career.
Ernst, a relief pitcher from Loveland, Ohio, appeared in 27 games during the 2010 season. The communication major finished the campaign with a 2-1 record, two saves and a team-best 3.73 ERA. He held opponents to a .254 batting average and had a streak of nine consecutive scoreless outings during the season.
Stadler, a rising junior first baseman/pitcher, started 13 games during his sophomore year and posted a 3-4 record with a 5.26 ERA. Stadler finished the year strong on the mound, winning two of his last three starts, and striking out 11 in consecutive starts. At the plate, the business major hit .278 with two homers and 11 RBIs.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
