Kadija Fornah Named Volleyball Preseason All-ACC

GREENSBORO, NC - Junior outside hitter Kadija Fornah has been named to the 2010 Volleyball Preseason All-ACC Team as selected by the league's 12 head coaches.
Fornah returns for her third year with the Demon Deacons after leading the team with 306 kills a year ago during her sophomore campaign. Fornah also contributed 116 digs and 46 total blocks in 2009.
As a freshman in 2008, Fornah also made a huge impact for the volleyball team, finishing second with 264 kills. For her career, she has 570 kills, ranking her 19th all-time in Wake Forest history.
The Demon Deacons were picked to finish 10th in the conference by the ACC head coaches. Wake grabbed 38 points in voting, while Florida State and Duke were picked in a tie for first with 108 points apiece.
Wake Forest will open its season on August 27 at home against Coastal Carolina at 7 pm on Day 1 of the Deacon Invitational. The ACC portion of the schedule will begin on September 17 at Duke at 7 pm.
