WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The collegiate summer baseball season is nearing its conclusion. Here's a look at how current Wake Forest baseball players are faring in summer ball.
Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League
Sophomore Michael Dimock has pitched in eight games, including three starts for Bourne and has a 0-1 record with a 2.49 ERA. In 21.2 innings pitched, Dimock has allowed six runs on 20 hits with 27 strikeouts.
Sophomore Austin Stadler has started seven games for Bourne and is 2-2 with a 2.75 ERA. Stadler has struck out 33 in 36.0 innings and has given up 13 runs, 11 earned, on 20 hits.
Northwoods League
Sophomore Gabe Feldman pitched in nine games, including two starts this summer with the Rochester Honkers. Feldman finished the summer with a 1-2 record and a 3.94 ERA. In 32.0 innings of work, Feldman allowed 19 runs, 14 earned, on 37 hits with 15 strikeouts.
Alaskan Collegiate Baseball League
Sophomore Zach White has appeared in 13 games with six starts for the Anchorage Bucs. White has pitched well this summer, posting a 3-3 record with a 2.53 ERA. In 46.1 innings pitched, White has given up 17 runs, 13 earned on 37 hits, while fanning 31.
New York Collegiate Baseball League
Freshman Matt Conway started 26 games for the Amsterdam Mohawks this summer and hit .275 with three homers and 24 RBIs. On the mound, Conway pitched in seven games, with two starts, and had a 0-2 record with a 4.67 ERA.
Redshirt freshman Taylor Kaprive has appeared in 41 games, including 39 starts, for the Alfred Thunder. Kaprive is hitting .217 with a homer, 24 RBIs and eight stolen bases.
Sophomore Carlos Lopez has played in 17 games, including 16 starts, and is hitting a team-best .377 with two homers and 17 RBIs for Elmira. Lopez leads the team with a .642 slugging percentage and is tied for third on the team with eight doubles.
Sophomore Daniel Marrs has made relief outings in seven games for the Oneonta Outlaws and has a 1-0 record with a 13.00 ERA.
Freshman Justin Van Grouw has pitched in 10 games with six starts for Amsterdam. Van Grouw has compiled a 1-1 record with a 3.45 ERA in 31.1 innings. Van Grouw has struck out 35 batters and surrendered 15 runs, 12 of them earned.
Valley Baseball League
Incoming sophomore Brett Armour has played in 26 games, with 15 starts, for the Harrisonburg Turks. Armour is hitting .169 with four RBIs.
Incoming sophomore Brian Holmes started two games on the mound for Harrisonburg and had a 0-1 record with a 4.70 ERA. In 7.2 innings, Holmes allowed six runs, four earned, on five hits with four strikeouts. Opponents hit just .192 against Harris in his two starts.
Cal Ripken, Sr., Collegiate Baseball League
Freshman Pat Blair played in 31 games for Youse's Orioles and ranked third on the team with a .348 batting average. Blair also contributed two homers, 17 RBIs and nine doubles.
Freshman Jack Carey appeared in 39 games for the Baltimore Redbirds and hit .181 with 12 RBIs, 19 runs scored and six stolen bases.
Freshman Tim Cooney started eight games for the Baltimore Redbirds and compiled a 4-1 record with a 2.54 ERA. Cooney, who was named Pitcher of the Week in the Cal Ripken League, allowed 17 runs, 13 earned, on 38 hits with 40 strikeouts in 46.0 innings.
Freshman Mark Rhine played in 37 games for the Baltimore Redbirds and finished the summer tied for second on the team with a .333 batting average and 13 RBIs. Rhine also finished third on the squad with seven doubles and scored 22 runs, while stealing seven bases.
Carolina-Virginia Collegiate League
Junior Mark Adzick has pitched in eight games, including five starts, for the Kernersville Bulldogs. Adzick, who has a complete game to his credit, is 2-0 on the summer with an 8.89 ERA. Adzick has struck out 39 batters in 28.1 innings.
Junior Eli Robins has made six outings out of the bullpen for Kernersville. Robins does not have a record and has a 9.00 ERA.
Great South Collegiate League
Junior Ryan Lloyd has played in 11 games for the Newnan Braves and is hitting .296 with two homers and seven RBIs. Lloyd has also hit two doubles, while scoring five runs.
