WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The second half of the professional baseball season is well underway. Here's a look at how former Wake Forest baseball players are faring in the pros.

Dave Bush (1999-2002) has pitched in 22 games, including 21 starts, this season for the Milwaukee Brewers. Bush has a 5-9 record on the year for Milwaukee with a 4.55 ERA. Bush picked up a victory on July 25 against the Washington Nationals, allowing three runs, two earned, over 6.0 innings of work.

Mike MacDougal (1997-99) was called up to the St. Louis Cardinals on July 28 and has pitched in five games with the Cards. In his five appearances, MacDougal has posted a 1-1 record with a 5.40 ERA. He earned his first win of the season on July 28 against the New York Mets, throwing a scoreless inning.

Jamie D'Antona (2001-03) has played in 71 games this season for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Japan's Central League. D'Antona is hitting .205 on the year with 11 homers and 48 RBIs.

Cory Sullivan (2000-01) played in 57 games this season as an outfielder for the Houston Astros. He hit .188 with four RBIs on the year. Sullivan was designated for assignment on June 20 and is currently a free agent.

Matt Antonelli (2004-06) has been battling an injured hand for most of the season. Antonelli played in one game with the San Diego Padres Arizona League team on July 26 and went 0-for-1 with a run scored.

Josh Ellis (2004-07) has appeared in 29 games this season between AAA Reno and AA Mobile, minor league affiliates of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ellis pitched in 11 games with Reno and had a 4.26 ERA with no record. Currently with Mobile, Ellis has thrown in 18 games and has a 2-0 record with a 2.52 ERA with the BayBears.

Eric Niesen (2005-07) has pitched in 20 games, including 13 starts, this season for the Binghamton Mets, the double A affiliate of the New York Mets. Niesen has a 4-4 record with a 4.88 ERA. In 59.0 innings, Niesen has allowed 37 runs, 32 earned, with 45 strikeouts.

Allan Dykstra (2006-08) has played in 86 games this season for the Lake Elsinore Storm, the Advanced Class A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Dykstra is hitting .232 with 12 homers and 55 RBIs. Over his last 10 games, Dykstra is batting .300, including a 2-for-4 game with a homer and an RBI on July 31 against Visalia.

Phil Negus (2007-09) is pitching for the Kannapolis Intimidators, the single A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Negus, who is currently on the seven-day disabled list, has pitched in four games this season for the Intimidators and has no record with a 2.45 ERA.

Garrett Bullock (2006-09) has made 14 relief appearances on the season with the Greeneville Astros, the rookie league affiliate of the Houston Astros. Bullock has recorded a 2-0 record with a 1.42 ERA for the Astros. Bullock has not allowed an earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Joel Ernst (2007-10) has pitched in six games with the Cincinnati Reds' Rookie League team in Arizona. Ernst has a 0-1 record with a save and a 3.38 ERA. Ernst last pitched on July 28 against the San Francisco Giants' Arizona Rookie League team and tossed two scoreless innings with two strikeouts.

Mike Murray (2007-10) has played in nine games for the San Francisco Giants' rookie league team in Arizona. Murray is hitting .400 on the season with six RBIs and three doubles. Murray went 3-for-5 with a run scored against the Angels on July 26.

Eric Williams (2006-08) has played in 45 games with the Wichita Wingnuts, a team in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. Williams is batting .296 with six RBIs. Williams leads the team with 30 walks and also has a team-best .435 on-base percentage.
