The students are now back in the swing of classes and the Wake Forest women's basketball program is gearing up for what should be an exciting season. Over the next couple of weeks, WakeForestSports.com will post a Q and A with the four newcomers to the program. Today, the focus is on Chelsea Douglas, a point guard from Charlotte, NC.
The nickname everyone calls me is.... CBoogie, Baby Chelsea, or CD. Mostly CBoogie though.
I chose the number 5 because.... I have loved the number since I was young. I admired Jason Kidd so much and he wore number 5.
My goals over the next four years are.... To win an ACC championship, make a deep run in the NCAA tournament, get my degree and to develop into a better overall person.
I chose Wake Forest because.... of the family atmosphere. I loved the way the coaches and team welcomed me right away and that's something hard to find. Also, the basketball program is on the rise and I want to be a part of something special.
The thing that impressed me the most about Coach Petersen and his staff was.... how honest they were with me throughout the whole recruiting process. That's what caught my eye the most.
My favorite basketball moment was..... Definitely winning a state championship my junior year in high school.
My pregame superstitions or routines are..... listening to music and basically focusing in on the game.
My favorite music artists are..... Drake and Trey Songz
Something most people don't know about me is..... I like to cook and if I didn't play basketball I would probably be going to school for culinary arts.
Best advice from Mom or Dad was..... "Dream big and work hard but make sure to always give the glory to God and you will do great things."
Describe your style of play in one word..... exciting
Nobody can believe I watch(ed)..... the lifetime movie network.
Favorite athlete to watch in another sport..... Tim Tebow
The hardest thing I've ever had to do was.... leave my niece and nephew because I had to leave for college.
My worst habit is.... saying "umm"
The one thing I can't image living without is.... basketball
The best advice I ever received was.... "Nothing in life is easy. You have to work hard for what you want."
