Blair and Rhine Named to Cal Ripken All-League Team

BALTIMORE, Md. - Wake Forest sophomore infielders Pat Blair and Mark Rhine were recently named to the 2010 Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League All-League Team.
Blair and Rhine each earned first team accolades for their performance over the summer.
A native of Baltimore, Blair played his summer ball with Youses Orioles. Blair played in 31 games with the Orioles, hitting .348 with two homers and 18 RBIs. Blair was second on the team with 40 hits, nine doubles and a .496 slugging percentage.
Blair finished his rookie season at Wake Forest with a .270 average to go along with seven homers and 25 RBIs in 54 games played. Blair closed the year in the top 10 in games played (54, T-10th), games started (53, 9th), at bats (222, 2nd), doubles (16, 4th), home runs (7, T-10th), bases on balls (25, T-10th) and stolen bases (11, T-5th) by a freshman in Wake Forest history.
Rhine spent his summer with the Baltimore Redbirds. The Orefield, Pa., product hit .333 with the Redbirds with 13 RBIs and 22 runs scored in 37 games played. Rhine was tied for the team lead in hits and finished second on the squad in runs scored.
Rhine hit .279 with a homer and 25 RBIs in his freshman season at Wake Forest. He closed the season on a nine-game hitting streak, which included going 7-for-11 (.636) with two RBIs in the final series of the season against Maryland.
