WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest turned in its highest hitting percentage of the season at .327, but the offensive outburst was not enough as the Demon Deacons fell to Boston College Saturday night at Reynolds Gym.

The loss drops Wake Forest to 5-13 overall and 2-7 in the ACC, as Boston College improves to 7-13, 3-6 ACC. Each set was close, as the Eagles edged the Deacs 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.

The Demon Deacons ended the match 46 kills and just 11 hitting errors, marking just the third time all season that the team has finished with a hitting percentage above .300. The Eagles were nearly as efficient, recording 50 kills and 11 hitting errors for a .317 hitting percentage.

Wake Forest was led by the familiar offensive forces in Kadija Fornah, Carlin Salmon and Andrea Beck. Fornah led the way with 15 kills, while the two middle hitters recorded 10 kills apiece. Salmon did not commit an error all night for a .556 hitting percentage, while Fornah was just one dig away from a double-double.

Freshmen Danae Rosendall and Dani Thompson also performed well. Rosendall had 38 assists, three total blocks, five digs and three kills, while Thompson led all players in the match with 18 digs.

Wake Forest started off strong in Set 1 and held an 8-4 lead early, but Boston College scored seven straight points to take an 11-8 lead. The Deacs remained close for the duration of the set, but they were unable to tie the set the rest of the way.

Set 2 was just as close as the first and was tied as late as 20-20. BC got a kill from Courtney Castle and an attack error by the Deacs to go up two points. After a WF timeout, Beck recorded a kill and Cambrey Oehler had an ace to tie the set immediately and prompt the Eagles to take a timeout of their own. BC responded with three straight points to take a 2-0 set lead.

The final set followed a similar script, as Boston College took the lead for good at 16-15. The Deacs kept the deficit at one point at 21-20 and 24-23, but a kill by Tsvetelina Dureva ended Wake Forest's hopes at a comeback.

Wake Forest will have a quick turnaround as the Deacs are set to host NC State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Gym. North Carolina will then come to town on Friday at 7 p.m. Admission to both matches will be free for all spectators.
