Two Deacons Make Singles Quarters at ITA Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Wake Forest's Danny Kreyman and Adam Lee reached the singles quarterfinals before falling to opponents from Duke as the Demon Deacon men's tennis team completed play at the ITA Carolina Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Kreyman knocked off NC State's 108th-ranked Dominc Hodgson in three sets in his Round of 16 match, and battled the No. 4 player in the country, Duke's Henrique Cunha, in three sets before falling 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to the Blue Devil in the quarterfinals. Kreyman's win against Hodgson was his second over a ranked player this fall.
Lee also won a three-setter in his first match of the day, outlasting South Carolina's Ivan Machado 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 before falling to Duke's Torsten Wietoska in the quarters. Wietoska had earlier in the day knocked out Demon Deacon David Hopkins in the Round of 16.
Wake Forest's lone remaining doubles team fell in the semifinals to top-seeded and 15th-ranked Cunha and Chris Mengel of Duke.
The final event on the Demon Deacons' fall calendar is the Alabama Invitational, which will run from October 28-30 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
