WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team will kick off competition tomorrow in the ITA Carolina Regional, which runs from Thursday through next Monday in Chapel Hill, N.C. The tournament serves as the individual championship for players from schools in the states of North and South Carolina.

Two rounds of qualifying singles and one round of main draw doubles will make up Thursday's schedule.

Wake Forest's Kayla Duncan and Kathryn Talbert, the seventh-ranked team in the nation, are seeded second in the doubles draw and received a first round bye. Duncan and Talbert are looking to lock up an automatic bid to November's ITA National Indoor Championships by winning the doubles draw. They could also make themselves eligible for an at-large bid by reaching at least the semifinals.

Competing in doubles tomorrow for the Demon Deacons will be Rebecca Siegler and Zane Zarina, who will face UNC Wilmington's Casey Dashiell and Angie Sekely. Wake Forest's other doubles team of Karen Forman and Ryann Cutillo received a bye in the first round.

In singles qualifying, Siegler is seeded fifth and will open against Furman's Margaret Boyette. Brigita Bercyte will take on Maria Hesketh of Coastal Carolina.

Duncan, Cutillo, Forman and Zarina all received direct acceptance into the singles main draw.
