Deacons Perfect to Open Crimson Tide Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team swept all four of its matches on the first day of the Crimson Tide Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Friday.
After rain delayed the start of the play to the afternoon, the Deacons came out strong in doubles with David Hopkins and Amogh Prabhakar teaming up to down Norman Chang and Ryan Miller of Furman 8-2.
Wake Forest also rolled through singles. Adam Lee posted a straight-set win over Samford's Zac Dunkle 6-3, 6-3, and Hopkins also went through in straights 6-4 ,6-2 against Memphis' Daniel Shidler. Danny Kreyman had the most interesting match of the day for Wake Forest, overcoming a tough second set to defeat Matt Frost from Southern Mississippi 6-1, 6-7, 6-1.
All three will continue singles action tomorrow, along with Prabhakar who was the recipient of a walkover in the first round.
