WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore women's soccer player Aubrey Bledsoe has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the field as a Demon Deacon.
Bledsoe has started every game in goal for the Deacons since arriving on campus as a freshman in 2010, and was named the 2010 ACC Tournament MVP after helping Wake Forest to its first-ever ACC Championship. She has kept up her strong play this year, playing every minute of the 2011 season and keeping a school-record 14 shutouts to help the Deacs reach their first-ever College Cup.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native has also excelled off the pitch, holding the highest GPA on the women's soccer team.
Bledsoe and the rest of the Demon Deacons will face Duke in the College Cup semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at KSU Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, Ga.
