ROAD TRIP!! We were off to Kennesaw, Ga. for the College Cup! I think it's safe to say that we are very very excited. And to make things better we had tons of students and staff come out and wish us goodbye and good luck!
Everyone seemed to come out and watch us walk onto the bus; the pep band even came and played music for us. Everyone had pom-poms and they were all clapping and screaming and there were news cameras and photographers snapping photos left and right. I could get used to this kind of treatment that's for sure.
Then soon enough we were on our way to Georgia! The excitement lasted a total of maybe 30 minutes until we all realized it was a 6 hour trip with 39 people on one bus and we were already bored. So of course it was movie time! The coaches got to pick the movie and although we aren't sure who decided on The Holiday, we are pretty sure it was assistant coach Tim Santoro.
However, we learned a few things from watching the Holiday. First, when watching a movie with 26 teenage girls, never pick a movie with Jude Law in it. Second, don't pick a love movie unless you want them all to spend the entire time talking about how they wish the movie was their own lives.
After our first experience, we decided on Elf for the second movie, a much better choice. And after a few hours of driving we got to stop for dinner at PF Changs. We were obviously very excited and probably ate them out of all the lettuce wraps they had at the restaurant.
And after a few games of passing the lemon slice down the table with chopsticks our food came, and we all seemed to scarf that down as well. But of course we couldn't call it dinner unless we told the server it was someone's birthday. Lucky for us that it was Jordan Feger, Ally Berry, Riley Ridgik, and Amanda Howell's birthday within the next week! I think they loved their little mini deserts and our rendition of Happy Birthday, I know the rest of the restaurant did.
Then it was back on the bus for the rest of the trip. 6 hours, 2 finished boxes of cookies, 2 movies, and a dinner later we finally arrived at Kennesaw. It may have been a long bus ride, but it was well worth it.
