GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest and Virginia will be featured on ESPNU on Monday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in Charlottesville as part of the network's spring ACC sports coverage.
With this announcement, the Demon Deacons and the Cavaliers will now play their three-game series on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Game times on Saturday (4 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) will remain the same.
Wake and Virginia met just one time last year, when the Cavaliers defeated the Deacs 13-1 in the first game of the 2011 ACC Baseball Championship in Durham.
Wake Forest's game schedule at Charlotte on April 10 will now be played on Wednesday, April 11, at 6 p.m.
As part of ESPN's new 12-year agreement with the ACC, ESPNU plans to televise nine consecutive weeks of ACC Olympic sporting events on Mondays at 7 p.m. during the spring of 2012, including six baseball games, two softball games and the women's lacrosse championship. The final week, Florida State at Clemson baseball, will air on Monday, May 14, at 6 p.m.
"ACC Mondays allowed us to create a home for ACC sports fans on ESPNU with a consistent day and time each week with the conference's best match-ups," said Dan Margulis, ESPNU director of programming and acquisitions.
"This is a terrific opportunity and a great platform to highlight our players and programs. ACC Monday provides the ability for fans to enjoy ACC content by appointment each week," said ACC Commissioner John Swofford.
