Wake Forest Volleyball Releases Spring Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team has announced its schedule for its spring competition on Wednesday. The Demon Deacons will play various team on three dates in March and April.
The Demon Deacons will be hosting the first spring tournament on March 26th from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Fellow ACC school NC State is scheduled to play on that day, as well as James Madison, Winthrop, Wingate, Davidson, Appalachian State, High Point, NC Central and East Carolina.
On March 30th, Wake Forest and Appalachian State will scrimmage at 6 p.m. at Watauga High School in Boone, N.C. The two teams are joining efforts to promote the continued growth of volleyball throughout the region and the state of North Carolina.
In their final tournament of the spring, the Deacs will be heading to Virginia Tech on April 9th. VT, Duke and Wake will represent the ACC at the tournament, while Tennessee, Ohio, Liberty and UNC Charlotte will also be participating.
Wake Forest is coming off a successful 2010 campaign that saw the Deacs finish the season with a 19-12 record and 11-9 record in ACC play. This marks the first time in school history that the Demon Deacons have put together an 11-win season in conference play.
The season culminated with a three-set sweep at home against ACC Champion and NCAA Quarterfinalist Duke.
Wake Forest's schedule for the 2011 season will be announced in the coming weeks.
