WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Martina Pavelec earned singles and doubles wins on her Senior Day, and Kayla Duncan posted her third ranked singles win of the season, but the Wake Forest women's tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 51 Boston College on Saturday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Center in its regular season finale.

The No. 54 Demon Deacons will carry a 6-15 (0-11 ACC) record into the ACC Tournament, while the Eagles improve to 9-12 (3-7 ACC). Wake Forest will be No. 12 seed in the ACC Championships and will play its first match of the tournament at noon on Thursday at Cary Tennis Park against the No. 5 seed, which has yet to be determined.

Prior to the match, head coach Jeff Wyshner honored seniors Emilee Malvehy and Martina Pavelec. The two teamed up to earn Wake Forest's only doubles win of the day, an 8-5 triumph over Veronica Corning and Erina Kikuchi at the top position.

The Eagles entered singles with a 1-0 lead after taking the doubles point, but the Deacs fought them until the end. Pavelec evened the score with a dominating 6-3, 6-0 victory against Alex Kelleher at No. 1 singles.

After Boston College retook with a win at the No. 4 position, before Duncan again pulled the Demon Deacons even with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over No. 103 Katarina Gajic at No. 3 singles. The win was her third over a ranked opponent in her last eight singles matches, and she finishes the conference season as the team leader with five ACC singles wins.

With BC leading 3-2, the match came down to the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions. At No. 5, Anna Mydlowska dropped the first set in a tiebreak and hung with her opponent all the way through the second before again coming up on the wrong end of a 7-6 score. At No. 6, fresh off her first-career ACC singles win, Brigita Bercyte pushed hard for another, splitting sets with Olga Khmylev before running out of steam in the final set to fall 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
