Duncan and Talbert Keep Rolling at UVa Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Wake Forest's seventh-ranked doubles duo of Kayla Duncan and Kathryn Talbert continued their perfect start to the fall season, winning two matches Saturday to reach the finals of the A Doubles draw as the Demon Deacons continued play at the UVa Fall Invitational.
Duncan and Talbert won a quarterfinal match over ACC rivals Ashley Miller and Joelle Kissell of NC State 8-4 before topping sisters Alex and Ana Bara of VCU 8-6 to reach tomorrow's championship match.
Brigita Bercyte and Karen Forman won their first doubles match of the day over VCU's Olga Terteac and Daria Yakavleva before falling to UNCG's Niltooli Wilkins and Lucy Dougherty.
Duncan and Talbert will have the chance to avenge their teammates' loss tomorrow when they face Wilkins and Dougherty for the A Doubles title. The Spartan duo have already scored one top-10 victory in the tournament, defeating Virginia's No. 9 Lindsey Hardenbergh and Erin Vierra in the opening round.
Rebeccas Siegler earned Wake Forest's only singles victory of the day, topping VCU's Salome Kvitashvili 6-4, 6-2 in the C Singles semifinals. Siegler will take on Ellie Ball of Marshall for the consolation championship tomorrow.
Kayla Duncan's run through the A Singles draw ended when she fell to NC State's Joelle Kissell 7-5, 6-4.
The Deacons will wrap up play in the tournament tomorrow.
