WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest enjoyed one of its best shooting nights of the season last Sunday vs. Clemson and will look to continue that momentum when they head south to take on No. 10/8 Miami. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. from the BankUnited Center.
HOW TO CATCH THE GAME
- The game can be heard live on WakeForestSports.com. Wake Forest assistant media relations director Steven Wright will have the call. The game will also be shown in the Miami area on Comcast Sports South and nationally on ESPN3.com.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Demon Deacons enjoyed one of their best shooting nights of the season en route to downing visiting Clemson 94-65 Sunday afternoon.
- The 94 points were the most points Wake Forest has scored in a regulation ACC game in school-history.
- Junior guard Lakevia Boykin led the Deacons with 21 points. She tied her career-high with five three-pointers in the game and also dished-out three assists.
- Junior center Sandra Garcia recorded her second double-double of the year with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Seven of her 10 boards came on the offensive end, which was a season-high.
- Fellow center Lindsy Wright was the third Demon Deacon in double-figures with 12 points and seven points. Senior Secily Ray nearly had a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds.
- Sophomore point guard Chelsea Douglas dished-out a career-high 11 assists to go along with her five points and team-high three steals.
MEET THE HURRICANES
- Miami comes into the contest riding a six-game winning streak.
- The Canes are 17-3 on the season and 6-1 in the conference and are ranked No. 10 in the country by the AP Poll.
- All-American guards Shenise Johnson and Riquana Williams led the team in scoring at 16.5 and 15.6 points per game, respectively. Johnson also tops the team at 7.4 rebounds per contest.
- Morgan Stroman was the third Hurricane in averaging in double-figures at 12.9 ppg but an ankle injury has sidelined her for the rest of the season.
- Miami head coach Katie Meier is in her seventh season with the Hurricanes. She has a mark of 117-92 at Miami and a 193-137 career mark after serving as head coach at Charlotte for four seasons.
SERIES HISTORY
- This will just be the 11th meeting all-time between Wake Forest and Miami.
- Miami and Boston College are the only two ACC schools that Wake Forest holds a winning record against.
- The Canes won last year's lone meeting 74-46 in Coral Gables.
NEXT UP...
- Wake Forest will host in-state rival No. 25 North Carolina on Sunday, Jan. 28 at the Joel Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
