Men's Tennis Opens USTA/ITA Carolina Regional

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis tournament will begin play Thursday at the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships which will be held at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The tournament serves as the individual championship for players from schools in North Carolina and South Carolina and is also the qualifier for the ITA National Indoor Championships.
Wake Forest will have eight players competing in the tournament. Danny Kreyman and David Hopkins, ranked 94th and 102nd nationally in singles, respectively, are in the group of players seeded ninth, and both received first round byes.
In first round matches Thursday in Cary, Sam Bloom will face Zach Hublitz of UNCW, Adam Lee will take on Charlotte's Alex Calott, Amogh Prabhakar will match up against Garik Yedigarian of Coastal Carolina, Jon Ho will play Charlotte's Paul Cisti, Anthony Delcore will face Dylan Comerford of Winthrop and Conner Sherwood will take on Grayson Mills of Presbyterian.
In doubles, Hopkins and Prabhakar, who are ranked No. 17 nationally, are seeded third and earned a bye in the first round.
Ho and Bloom will open doubles competition against Elon's Christopher Geaslen and Dan Sablik, Delcore and Sherwood will play Trey Carter and Ivan Sanchez from NC State and Kreyman and Lee will face John Schmitt and Mario Martinez of ECU.
One round of doubles and two rounds of singles will be played Friday.
