
ACC Announces 2012 Field Hockey Tournament Bracket

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest has earned the No. 5 seed and a rematch with fourth-seeded Boston College in the quarterfinals of the 2012 ACC Field Hockey Championship as announced by the conference on Saturday.
The game will be played at North Carolina's Francis E. Henry Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C., the host of this year's tournament. It is scheduled for a start time of 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1.
This will mark the fifth straight year that the two schools have met in the quarterfinals, with the Demon Deacons winning each of the four previous clashes, including a 4-3 triumph in 2011.
The Eagles will be heading into the matchup with momentum after downing Wake Forest 2-1 in the final regular season game for both on Friday evening. Paige Norris and Chapin Duke each scored in the final 10 minutes for Boston College, while Anna Kozniuk added Wake's lone goal.
Wake Forest will be looking to continue its impressive streak of first-round victories at the ACC Tournament as well. The Deacs have won at least one game in the postseason tournament every year dating back to 2001.
North Carolina and Virginia will be the top two seeds and will receive byes into Friday's semifinals. The Tar Heels will face the winner of the Wake Forest-Boston College game, while the Cavaliers will draw the victor between Maryland and Duke.
