Demon Deacons Fall to Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. - Andrea Beck had nine kills while Kylie Hargreaves added seven but Wake Forest fell to Clemson 3-0 (24-26, 21-25, 13-25) on Thursday night.
Hargreaves had six digs, one solo block and two block assists in the match. Megan Miller notched a team-high 15 digs while Heather Kraft had 12.
Wake Forest began the first set with a 5-1 run aided by two kills from Beck. After Clemson took a 12-11 lead, the Demon Deacons took a 14-13 lead after a kill from Hargreaves and a block from Hargreaves and Jazmen Russell. After both teams went back and forth, Danae Rosendall registered a block, putting the Deacs up 18-17. Clemson though, would come back and take the set 26-24.
The Deacs came back in set two and led early 3-1. Both teams traded points until the Tigers went up 11-7. Wake Forest narrowed Clemson's lead to 22-20, but the Tigers took the set 25-21.
In the third set, both teams kept it tight through the first few points as Wake Forest took a 3-2 lead off a kill from Beck. After Clemson took the lead, Rosendall brought the Deacs within four as the Tigers led 12-8 though, Clemson closed out the set 25-13 and took the match 3-0.
Sandra Adeleye had 11 kills to lead Clemson (19-10, 10-8 ACC) while Moneshia Simmons added 10.
Wake Forest (10-20, 4-14 ACC) heads to Georgia Tech on Friday to take on the Yellow Jackets at 7 p.m. for the last road match against the season.
