WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will try and stop its two-game losing streak this Thursday as it heads to No. 5/6 Duke. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from Cameron Indoor Stadium.
HOW TO CATCH THE GAME
- The game can be heard live online on WakeForestSports.com. Alex Vispoli (play-by-play) and Roper Halverson (analyst) will have the call.
LAST TIME OUT
- No. 25 North Carolina made four clutch free throws in the final minute to secure a narrow 75-71 victory over Wake Forest last Sunday.
- The difference in the game came on the offensive glass as UNC grabbed 12 offensive rebounds on 16 missed shots in the second half and finished the game with 23 second chance points. Wake Forest had just eight second chance points on the afternoon.
- The Deacons had three players in double-figures led by Lakevia Boykin's 21 points. Boykin also grabbed a career-high eight rebounds.
- Chelsea Douglas finished with 13 points and dished-out a team-high five assists while Secily Ray notched 11 points and eight rebounds.
- For Carolina, Tierra Ruffin-Pratt led the way with 21 points, 19 of which came in the second half. Laura Broomfield scored 20 points and had 18 rebounds while Chay Shegog poured-in 19 points and had 10 rebounds.
MEET THE BLUE DEVILS
- Duke comes into the game with a 17-3 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the ACC.
- The Blue Devils had their 11-game win-streak snapped by No. 3 UConn last Monday, 61-45.
- Duke's three losses this season have come to top-10 ranked teams.
- Freshman center Elizabeth Williams recorded just the 14th triple-double in ACC history against the Deacs on Jan. 6. She leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest. She also has blocked a team-high 76 shots.
- Sophomore guard Chelsea Grey has also enjoyed a solid season, averaging 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.
- Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie is in her fifth season with the Blue Devils. She has an overall record of 447-177 and is a remarkable 131-29 in four-plus season at Duke. She is 6-0 all-time against the Deacs.
SERIES HISTORY
- This will be the 73rd meeting all-time between Wake Forest and Duke.
- The Blue Devils hold a commanding 54-18 edge in the series and have won the last 36 meetings between the two teams.
- The Deacs' last victory came in the opening round of the 1993 ACC Tournament, when Wake knocked-off the Blue Devils 70-69.
