GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wake Forest junior guard Lakevia Boykin has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Boykin, who earned her first All-ACC accolades, claimed honorable mention honors.
The 5-9, Raleigh, N.C., native has had a tremendous second half of the season. She averaged just over eight points per game in non-conference action but scored over 14 points per game in conference play. She has had five 20-point games this season and all of them have occurred against ACC opponents.
She scored a career-best 25 points on 5-of-10 from beyond the arc against Duke on Jan. 6 and then put-up 20 points and grabbed a career-best nine rebounds in the Deacons' 65-55 victory over Florida State on Feb. 8.
For the year, Boykin is averaging a team-high 11.8 points per game and has made a team-best 44 three-pointers. She has also recorded a team-high 18 games of 10 or more points.
Boykin is the first Demon Deacon to earn All-ACC honors since Brittany Waters took home honorable mention honors in 2010.
The Demon Deacons will open ACC Tournament play on Thursday, March 1 against Virginia Tech. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. from the Greensboro Coliseum.
