WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's soccer team has several of its former players continuing their careers in the professional ranks, including the majority playing in the MLS.
Philadelphia Union
Brian Carroll and Michael Lahoud have been providing solid play on the field for the Union, while head coach John Hackworth has been calling the shots from the sidelines.
Carroll has played in 21 games, starting 20 of those contests, and scored his first goal of the season in the eighth minute on the road at DC United on Sunday. Lahoud has also played in 11 games and has made eight starts this season.
For Hackworth, a path that never wavered
San Jose Earthquakes
Sam Cronin and Ike Opara are both playing for the Earthquakes, while Cronin has started all but one of the team's 22 games. He has contributed one goal and three assists. Opara has seen action in nine games and has made three starts for San Jose.
Chivas USA
James Riley has started all 22 games and has played every minute for Chivas this season. In that time he has dished out two assists.
FC Dallas
Scott Sealy has played in 13 games and had made eight starts for FC Dallas. He has scored two goals on the season, including a goal in his last appearance against Portland on August 5.
Colorado Rapids
Wells Thompson has played in 17 games and has made five starts for the Rapids, while recording an assists in his time on the field.
New York Red Bulls
Stephen Keel has played in nine games and has make six starts this season for the Red Bulls.
Chicago Fire & Columbus Crew
Corben Bone has played in two games this year for Chicago, while Will Hesmer is on the Columbus Crew roster but has yet to make an appearance in goal.
Carolina RailHawks (NASL)
Four former Demon Deacons are playing for the RailHawks of the North American Soccer League, including Austin da Luz, Amir Lowery, Akira Fitzgerald and Zack Schilawski.
Schilawski has four goals and an assist on the year, while da Luz has added one goal and three assists. Lowery has not scored a goal but has taken 17 shots, while Fitzgerald has seen one game in goal and made three saves.
Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (Finland)
Pat Phelan and Justin Moose are the only two Americans playing for SJK in Finland. Phelan and Moose have each recorded one goal so far on the season.
FC Nordsjaelland (Denmark)
Michael Parkhurst is playing for FC Nordsjaelland and has scored two goals and recorded two assists for six points.
Degerfors IF (Sweden)
Brian Edwards is the goalkeeper for Degerfors IF and has played in 18 games while making 90 saves on the year.
