Wake Forest Kicks Off 2012 Season
• The Demon Deacons will play host to UNC Wilmington on Friday night before taking on both Davidson University and Winthrop University on Saturday in the annual Deacon Invitational.
•Wake Forest fell in its first match on Tuesday but looks to rebound in the Deacon Invitational.

Last Time Out
•Wake Forest started the season on the road on Tuesday night at High Point, falling in five sets (25-16, 26-23, 20-25, 19-25, 13-15).
•Andrea Beck led the Demon Deacons with 20 kills in the loss while Kristin Grissom chipped in 15 kills.
This Week's Opponents
•Opening up the season on Tuesday, Davidson defeated Gardner-Webb for its home-opener. Winthrop battled Florida Atlantic, North Carolina Central and UNC Greensboro in the NC Central Tournament, winning 2-of-3 matches before hosting Appalachian State on Tuesday.
•UNC Wilmington is 3-1 after wins over High Point, Delaware State and Campbell.
Series History
•Wake Forest has a 4-1 overall record against Davidson. The two teams last faced each other in 2008 in which the Demon Deacons won 3-0 in Reynolds Gym.
•Winthrop and Wake Forest last met in 2008 when Wake Forest won 3-1. The Eagles hold a 10-7 edge in the overall series.
Next Up...
• The Demon Deacons head to Milwaukee, Wis. to compete in the Marquette Tournament. Wake Forest will face Michigan, Eastern Illinois, Northern Iowa and Marquette beginning on Sept. 7.
