Deacons Find Doubles Success at UVA Invite

Wake Forest's top doubles team of 17th-ranked Amogh Prabhakar and David Hopkins reached the finals of their flight and Jon Ho and Adam Lee scored a ranked doubles win as the Demon Deacons opened play at the UVA Ranked +1 Invitational and the Elon University Invitational on Friday.
Prabhakar also advanced to the quarterfinals in singles at the UVa Ranked +1 Invitational, while Anthony Delcore reached the singles quarterfinals of the A1 Draw at the Elon Invitational.
Prabhakar, seeded seventh in the Orange Singles flight, defeated Ole Miss junior Jonas Backstrom 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 and will face No. 68 Nelson Vick of North Carolina on Saturday for a spot in the semifinals.
The Demon Deacons found success in the Green Doubles flight. 17th-ranked Prabhakar and Hopkins defeated George Washington's Francisco Dias and Alexander Van Gils 8-6. In the semifinals, Hopkins and Prabhakar beat Albert Wagner and Michael Lippens of Louisville 8-2. The Wake Forest teammates will try to claim the tournament championship on Saturday when they face second-seeded Alex Domijan and Harrison Richmond from Virginia.
Ho and Lee, playing together for the first time, topped No. 37 Connor Glennon/David O'Hare (Memphis) 8-4 in the quarterfinals of the Black Doubles draw before falling to Albert Wagner/Michael Lippens in semifinals.
At Elon, Delcore advanced to the quarterfinals, defeating Robert Kjelberg of NC Wesleyan. Delcore looks to reach the semifinals on Saturday against Adrian Langard of UNC Asheville.
Both tournaments continue on Saturday with singles quarterfinals and doubles finals.
