Wake Forest Head Coach Jim Grobe

Opening Statement...
"I thought our defense had 11 guys chasing the football full speed all the time and it was fun to watch. I was disappointed in the second half when we relaxed a little bit and gave up a 75-yard drive which really caught my attention. I thought overall for four quarters against a talented quarterback and some talented receivers we really came ready to play."

On the offensive play...
"I think more than anything else it is about trying to find Tanner's (Price) comfort zone. I think he is more comfortable sitting in the pocket throwing the football. He runs well enough to be an option quarterback, but we had issues on the perimeter pitching the ball and some issues getting out of the mesh and pulling the ball when he should keep it. I think the offensive coaches have really done a good job of putting together an offense that Tanner is getting comfortable with."

On the play of quarterback Tanner Price...
"I thought he played really well, and I thought he also played really well against North Carolina State. I think he has put together two games back-to-back which is pretty special. We have five more games against teams that are really talented, so it is going to take a great effort out of him every week for us to be good on offense."

On the play of noseguard Nikita Whitlock and the defense... "I think right out of the blocks Nikita was just a beast. He did some great things early and I think all of the guys up front played well. Even though they weren't always getting there they had a lot of pressure on the pocket. I thought both quarterbacks were very talented and could both throw the football. I think some of the times even though we didn't get there the pressure forced some bad throws."

On Wake's recent play...
"Personally, I am so excited about the past couple wins beating NC State and then Maryland which is huge for our football team. It is exciting going forward, but we still have a long road ahead. I am much happier for our players and finding a way to get back together and win."

Senior Quarterback Tanner Price

On getting a passing, a rushing, and a receiving touchdown in a single game...
"I thought that was pretty neat. I don't think a lot of people have done that, so it was kind of a once in a lifetime thing."

On the team's overall performance...
"It was a lot of fun out there today. We had a lot of energy offensively defense did a really good job and put us in good positions to put points up. We did a great job of capitalizing for the most part, and it was a lot of fun today."

On his individual performance and the play of the offense...
"I felt pretty good about my individual performance. I just try to do my job out there. We had great blocking by the offensive line today. A lot of guys stepped up and made some really good catches. It was a team effort and they did a really good job. We're just looking to build off this now and grow as an offense."

On senior flanker Michael Campanaro becoming the new Wake Forest record holder for career receptions...
"That was really exciting. We had to work pretty hard at the end to get him the ball. I was really happy that he made that catch. It's exciting for him and he's a great kid and he really deserves that, so I'm really proud of him and happy for him."

On preparing for next week's game at Miami... "We're just going to try to continue to grow and execute what we're doing offensively. We're going to take it one game at a time, and hopefully we can use this momentum from today to build off of it and be very competitive as we go down and face Miami."

Wake Forest Senior Free Safety A.J. Marshall

On the win...
"It's exciting. I really felt like it was a team win. We really focused hard on these past two weeks, especially with the bye week, to get to know Maryland. I really feel like Coach [Grobe] put us in a good position to win."

On the play of the defensive line...
"Just coming from a secondary guy, it's so exciting, especially when you've got guys like Nikita [Whitlock] and Zach [Thompson.] My fellow seniors were making plays. It makes my job a lot easier. But it's just exciting, I'm proud of those guys. When you've got me running from the deep third all the way to the line to chest bump Nikita and Zach it's just a good experience."

Wake Forest Senior Wide receiver Michael Campanaro

On breaking the all-time reception record...
"That last catch, they really made me work for it. But I'm just thankful Coach Grobe was trying to get me that last catch. I have to thank Tanner Price. He's been with me since we started playing ball. So I thank him for all the catches. It was tough, but I wouldn't want to have it any other way."

On the meaning of breaking Desmond Clark's record...
"I remember playing Madden with Desmond Clark growing up as a middle schooler. It's just an honor to break someone like Desmond Clark's record. He had a great NFL career. That's just special."

On fellow Maryland native Kevin Johnson...
"We've been playing together since Little League ball and that's my best friend, and we carried it on into high school. When he was being recruited, he had some big offers and I think when he came on his visits, me and him are so close. He loved Wake Forest also. It wasn't like he was coming just for me. He saw an opportunity where he could step in and help the team. He's been playing great and he's really come into his own as one of the top corners in the country. He's playing great football for us."

On throwing a touchdown pass to Tanner Price...
"It was a fun game. When you hear plays like that called from the sideline, you kind of get excited. But you have to calm down so you don't mess it up. That was fun, Tanner and I switching roles."

Wake Forest Senior Nose Guard Nikita Whitlock

On win over division rival Maryland...
"I think the biggest thing was we just kept our momentum from the NC State game. We struggled in the beginning of the season just playing with intensity and I just think the biggest thing was we got the juice back, you know what I'm saying? It's really good to be able to come out against Maryland just show the world, show the nation, and show the ACC that we're not down yet."

On his strong performance that featured two early sacks...
"I came out fast and I really got them thinking. I guess they thought they could single block me at the beginning and when they tried I took advantage of the single blocks. Towards the end of the game they started doubling me and leaving my partners open like Zach Thompson, and he capitalized on it. Starting fast was really a big issue that we had so we just accomplished one our goals and that's to start fast."

On the defense's strong play over the past two games...
"We've been able to put one game of good defense together but this is our first two game streak of great defense I think. That was a challenge for us and we're trying to put a three-game streak together next week, and a four-game streak after that, so we're just trying to play with that intensity and keep it going because if the offense plays the way it did this week and last week and the defense plays the way they did, it's going to be tough to beat us."

Maryland Head Coach Randy Edsall

Opening statement...
"We didn't get it done today, as everybody knows. I tried to tell our team that we were going to get their best effort. It was their homecoming, coming off that win (NC State) and plus with our situation in the ACC. But we didn't come out and match their intensity early on. That's something that was very disappointing."

On the status of Deon Long and Stefon Diggs...
"It's not good. Deon broke his tibia and fibula, both bones in the lower leg. He's got to go home tonight and probably have surgery later tonight when we get home. Stefon fractured his fibula so there will probably be surgery sometime this week for him."

On the reaction to the injuries to Long and Diggs...
"It's unfortunate. I feel bad for both those guys. We got to make sure we move forward. What has to happen is we have to have guys step up and guys go out there and play with the kind of intensity that you have to play with for 60 minutes. We didn't get that today. I've got to do a better job in making sure they listen to me rather than listen to everyone outside of the program and trying to congratulate them on stuff we haven't even accomplished yet. That's something that I tried to work hard on this week and we'll continue to work on it each and every day through the rest of the season. We'll get to where we want to go."

On replacing quarterback C.J. Brown with Caleb Rowe in the second half...
"I just felt that things that I saw, it was the best thing for our team to do to try and move the ball in the second half."

On the play of Caleb Rowe...
"I thought he did some good things and I thought there were some things that he could of done a little bit better. I thought there were some situations there, again, he had to manage, we have 1st-and-10 on the 15 and we got to understand we don't need a touchdown on the throw. We got to take what the defense gives us and execute. And that's just something we have to continue to work on and continue to coach."
