WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After playing the last six matches on the road, Wake Forest volleyball returns home this weekend for matches against two of the top teams in the ACC.
The Demon Deacons host Miami on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in a match that will be televised on Fox Sports Carolinas and ESPN3 along with several Fox Sports affiliates across the country.
Wake Forest is asking fans to fill Reynolds Gym and help set a new attendance record. Several promotions are planned for the match including a poster making station in the lobby and a chance to win $100 gift certificate to Noble's Grille.
"This is a great opportunity for our fans to come out and support us," said head coach Ken Murczek. "We've been on the road a lot and this will be a great experience to play in front of our home crowd. We would love to have Deacons fans pack the gym for the TV cameras on Friday."
Dubbed the `Volleyband', The Spirit of the Old Gold & Black will be in attendance and the team will hold an autograph session following the match.
On Saturday, the Deacs will be playing their annual Dig for the Cure match against the 18th-ranked Florida State Seminoles. The team will be wearing pink jerseys and pink rally towels will be distributed in the stands.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation will have a booth in the lobby and will be accepting donations.
Wake Forest holds an overall record of 13-7 with a 2-6 mark in the ACC. The Demon Deacons swept Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Sunday.
"It's good to come home after a win," said Murczek. "We're very excited about getting to play in Reynolds against two great teams this weekend."
Attendance is free for all home matches at Reynolds Gym.
