WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 18 Florida State closed out a tight fourth set to fend off Wake Forest 3-1 (26-24, 25-16, 25-20, 25-22) on Saturday night in Reynolds Gym.

Wake Forest (14-8, 3-7 ACC) was led by Kylie Hargreaves who had 15 kills while Kristin Grissom had 12. Jazmen Russell recorded 10 kills and Megan Miller had 18 digs. Sophia Dodd had 36 assists and nine digs.

The Demon Deacons won the first set 26-24 after falling behind midway through 18-15. Following a timeout, the Deacs registered two points forcing the Seminoles to call a timeout of their own.

FSU led 23-21 but Hargreaves tallied three kills in a row to go up 24-23. After Florida State tied it at 24, Wake Forest won the next three points to take the set.

Florida State maintained control of the second set and led most of the way through, winning 25-16.

In the third set, the Seminoles extended their lead late to 21-16 until the Deacs had three straight points to tighten the score. FSU then went on a 4-1 run to win 25-20 and lead 2-1.

Both teams battled hard in the fourth set with Wake Forest leading 14-12 after a kill from Grissom. With the match tied 18-18, the Seminoles had back-to-back blocks to go up 20-18. Wake Forest got within one point, cutting FSU's lead to 23-22 but two kills from the Seminoles clinched the 25-22 victory and the match 3-1.

Izzy Carmona had 13 kills for Florida State (15-6, 8-2 ACC) while Elise Walch had 11. Katie Mosher had a team-high 24 digs.

Wake Forest is back in action on Friday night when the Deacs host Boston College at 6:30 p.m. in Reynolds Gym.
