Wake Forest will look for its third-straight win to open the season when the Demon Deacons host the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Friday evening.

Last Time Out
Wake Forest is coming off a 98-71 win over VMI on Tuesday in the inaugural Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Classic. Codi Miller-McIntyre and Devin Thomas scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Deacons.
Miller-McIntyre tallied a career-high 23 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting in addition to dishing out a career-high seven assists.
Thomas poured in 20 points, 18 of them in the first half, while pulling down a career-high 17 rebounds in 25 minutes on the court.
Wake Forest finished the first half on a 10-0 run to take a 44-31 lead into halftime, and VMI would not get within 10 points the rest of the game.
The Deacons' 98 points were their most in a game since a 120-88 victory over UNCW during the 2008-09 season.
Wake Forest dominated inside against VMI, outrebounding the Keydets 57-37 and outscoring them 58-18 in the paint.
Wake Forest Storylines
Devin Thomas and Codi Miller-McIntyre have both hit the 20-point threshold twice already this season, becoming the first Wake Forest teammates to start the season with two 20-point games apiece since Skip Brown and Rod Griffin in 1976-77.
Wake Forest's 42 defensive rebounds against VMI set a Joel Coliseum record, marking the most since the Deacons pulled down 41 in 1996.
The Opposition
Presbyterian is 0-2 on the season with road losses at Georgia Tech (Nov. 8) and The Citadel (Nov. 12). Friday marks the Blue Hose's third-straight road game to start the year before they host Toccoa Falls on Monday in their home opener in Clinton, S.C.
The Blue Hose are coached by Gregg Nibert, who enters his 25th year at the helm of the program.
Series History
Wake Forest has won two of three all-time meetings with Presbyterian. The series dates back to a 1928 meeting between the two schools.
The teams have split two games during the modern era with the Deacons earning a 70-58 win on Jan. 2, 2008, and the Blue Hose stealing a 66-64 win in the most recent meeting on Dec. 21, 2010.
Next Up...
Wake Forest will host Jacksonville on Monday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast online on ESPN3. The Deacons are 5-0 all-time against the Dolphins, but the teams have not met since 1984.
The Deacons will then host The Citadel on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. in the opening stateside game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
Wake plays at home for its first five games of the season before playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis over Thanksgiving weekend in the Bahamas.
WEEKEND TRAFFIC ADVISORY
N.C. Department of Transportation crews will be working on the construction of a new interchange at Macy Grove Road and U.S. 421/ Business 40 in Kernersville this weekend.
The work will require crews to close U.S. 421/Business 40 between N.C. 66 in Kernersville and the I-40 split in Guilford County, beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15. The work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.
During this time, all traffic will be required to exit U.S. 421/Business 40 at N.C. 66 (Exit 15) and motorists should use the following signed detour routes:
- Motorists on U.S. 421/Business 40 East should take N.C. 66 (Exit 15) to I-40 East.
- Motorists on U.S. 421/Business 40 West should take I-40 West to N.C. 66 (Exit 203) to U.S. 421/Business 40 West.
- Motorists on U.S. 421/Business 40 East wishing to access East Mountain Street towards Colfax (Exit 16) should take N.C. 66 (Exit 15) to East Mountain Street.
- Motorists headed to Winston Salem and points west and those wishing to access U.S. 52 North are encouraged to use I-40 West as an alternate route.
A map of the closure and detour routes can be seen here. Local law enforcement officers will be stationed at each off-ramp intersection with N.C. 66 to assist with traffic flow for the duration of the closure.
Motorists traveling through the area should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the work zone. NCDOT encourages motorists to pay attention, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
The new interchange is being constructed as part of the $38.8 million Macy Grove Road Improvement Project, which will extend the road to create a direct link between U.S. 421/ Business 40 and N.C. 150 (North Main Street) north of Kernersville. This connection will also provide a segment of the future Kernersville Loop Road, and it is expected reduce congestion in downtown Kernersville and at the N.C. 66/N.C. 150 interchange with U.S. 421/Business 40.
In addition, the project will widen Macy Grove Road from two lanes to four lanes near the Industrial Park Drive intersection, extend Macy Grove Road from Old Greensboro Road to N.C. 150 and provide a new access point to the western side of Triad Park. As a result of the Macy Grove Road extension, new bridge crossings will be built over the Norfolk Southern Railroad, Old U.S. 421/East Mountain Street and Reedy Creek.
