GREENSBORO, N.C. - After scoring all three goals in No. 16 Wake Forest's 3-1 win over No. 10 Boston College on Saturday, senior Taylor Rhea has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Rhea tallied a goal in the first half to give Wake Forest a 1-0 lead then made it a two goal game in the 58th minute. After Boston College scored to make it 2-1, Rhea converted another opportunity with less than three minutes left in the game to seal the 3-1 victory on Senior Day.
The Virginia Beach, Virginia-native has a team-high 15 goals which is tied for the second best mark in the ACC. She is also third in the conference in points with 34 and is averaging 1.89 points per game. Rhea has tallied three hat tricks this season after registering three goals against Appalachian State and Radford.
Last week, she was named as a participant to the Front Rush / NFCHA Senior Game that will be held later in November.
Wake Forest will take on No. 3 North Carolina on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the ACC Field Hockey Tournament in Newton, Mass.
