WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest's Aubrey Bledsoe, Riley Ridgik and Katie Stengel were named to the NSCAA's All-Southeast Region teams, giving the Demon Deacons at least three All-Region honorees for the fifth year in a row.
Bledsoe was named to the first team, Ridgik was named to the second team and Stengel was named to the third team.
Stengel earned All-Region honors for the fourth year in a row, joining Emily Taggart (1998-01) as the only two players in program history to be named to the team four times. Bledsoe made the team for the third consecutive year, while Ridgik was honored for the first time.
A starter of all 94 games of her college career, Bledsoe kept eight shutouts for the Demon Deacons this season and posted a .800 save percentage and 0.87 goals against average. She departs Wake Forest as the program's all-time leader for starts, shutouts, goals against average and minutes played.
Stengel, the most decorated player in program history, scored six goals and had eight assists in only 12 games before an injury forced her to miss the remainder of the season. A four-time All-ACC selection, she holds Wake Forest's all-time goal and point scoring records.
Ridgik, a junior, posted a breakout season for the Demon Deacons, scoring a career-high 11 goals to lead the team, a total that ranked in the top 10 in program history. The Ventura, Calif. native also stepped into leadership role as co-captain after Stengel was injured.
Wake Forest finished the 2013 season 12-7-2 and beat Morehead State and Penn State to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to top overall seed Virginia.
