WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest will resume its ACC schedule after a week-long hiatus as the squad travels to Durham, N.C., to face No. 7 Duke on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
The Demon Deacons enter after dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker against San Diego on the road in their last time out on Mar. 15, while the Blue Devils have dropped two of their last three matches and must face No. 40 NC State on Saturday before facing the Deacs.
and live video of the contest will be available once the match has gotten underway.
Wake Forest has struggled historically against Duke, a team that is traditionally one of the stronger teams in the conference. The Deacs hold an all-time record of just 4-49 against the Blue Devils, with their last victory coming on Apr. 11, 2007, in Winston-Salem.
Kathryn Talbert enters Sunday's contest needing just one victory in either singles or doubles to claim her 100th total win in the old gold and black. The senior from Mooresville, N.C., has a 7-4 mark in singles dual matches thus far on the season, including wins over a pair of nationally-ranked opponents in VCU's Salome Kvitashvili and NC State's Joelle Kissell.
Xue Zhang is tied with Talbert for the most dual singles victories on the squad. After beginning the spring with a 1-2 record, the freshman from Weifang, China, has come alive for the Demon Deacons, notching a 6-3 mark in her last nine matches. Of her seven victories, four have come in tightly-contested three-set matches.
The Blue Devils hold a 9-3 record in 2013 and had been ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation before suffering a 4-2 loss to No. 60 Indiana on Mar. 15.
Following Sunday's contest, Wake Forest will be back in action on Thursday, Mar. 28, as the Deacs travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to face No. 24 Florida State at 4:00 p.m. Wake will be seeking its first victory over the Seminoles since 2006.
