Deacs Open Outdoor Season at CCU Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest track and field kicks off the outdoor season at the CCU Invitational this Friday and Saturday in Conway, S.C. at Coastal Carolina University.

The freshmen duo of Sydney White and Katie Adair look to build off their record setting indoor season in the pole vault on Friday. After finishing in second place in the ACC Indoor Championships, Nyki Caldwell is slated in the high jump on Saturday.

Myesha Barr headlines for the Demon Deacons in the 100m dash while teammate Brianna Dekine will run in the 400m dash, along with Kendal Knous.

On the men's side, Michael McEnany and Kyle Eager are scheduled for Wake Forest in the 400m dash. Malcolm Nunley is on the docket for the 110 meter hurdles, looking to improve upon his personal best time of 14.56 seconds.

In the men's 800m run, the trio of Alexander Rose, Ryan Horgan and Anthony Marois will compete for the Demon Deacons. Sean Lunkenheimer and Malcolm Nunley are slated for the 400m hurdles.

Nate Guthals, Thomas Bojanowski, and Jake Graham are scheduled in the 1500m run. On the women's side, freshmen Ashley Brubaker, Samantha Jones, Kendal Knous, and Kathleen Darling along with sophomores Aubrey Waggoner and Kaitlyn Oliver will race in the same event.

Aiden McConnell along with teammates Michael Belardia and Patrick Donelan will take part in the javelin while Nate Wooten will compete in the hammer throw.

In the shot put, Erika Martin will compete on the women's side, while Steve Michaelsen represents the Deacons on the men's side. Tylor Harris, Wooten and Michaelsen will open season competition in the discus throw for Wake Forest.

The Wake Forest men's 4x800m relay team of Kyle Graves, Nate Guthals, Marois and Rose will also compete at the CCU Invitational.

A recap of event performances will be posted on WakeForestSports.com each evening following the competitions. Next weekend, Wake Forest track and field will compete in the Wake Forest Open in Winston-Salem, N.C.
