WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Former Wake Forest assistant coach Jaida Williams has been named the women's basketball head coach at Coastal Carolina as announced Thursday evening by CCU Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek. Williams spent one season on the Demon Deacon coaching staff.
"We're extremely happy for Jaida and this opportunity," said Wake Forest head coach Jen Hoover. "She was an instrumental part of what we accomplished here this past season. The relationships she built with not only the players and staff but also with the administration were tremendous and we're going to miss her. She is a young and energetic coach and I know she'll do well at Coastal."
Williams joined the Deacon staff with Hoover prior to the 2012-13 season. She served as the recruiting coordinator where she helped build a top-20 recruiting class. In addition to her duties as recruiting coordinator, Williams also helped serve as the team's offensive coordinator, helping the 2012-13 Demon Deacons average 67.6 points per game.
Off the court, Williams also helped the Demon Deacon student-athletes to a 3.2 grade point average while also serving as the program's alumni relations representative.
