
Wake Forest Earns No. 10 Seed in ACC Championship

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest has earned the No. 10 seed in the 2013 ACC Women's Tennis Championship and will face No. 7 seed Florida State on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The Deacs (3-18, 2-9 ACC) dropped the regular season meeting with the 32nd-ranked Seminoles (13-8, 5-5 ACC) on Mar. 28 by a score of 6-1. Kathryn Talbert gave Wake Forest its lone point with a win over Daneika Borthwick at No. 1 singles.
The Demon Deacons will be seeking their first victory at the ACC Championship since Apr. 22, 2010, when they defeated NC State 4-2 in the opening round. Wake Forest last defeated Florida State in the postseason tournament on Apr. 20, 2006, with a 4-1 victory.
The winner of Thursday's contest will advance to face second-seeded Clemson on Friday at 12:00 p.m. The Deacs fell 6-1 to the 13th-ranked Tigers in their regular season finale this past Sunday.
Tickets for the entire tournament are $14 for adults and $10 for youths and students, while single-day passes are $7 for adults and $5 for youths and students. Children age 8 and under will be admitted free.
