WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest has earned the No. 3 seed in the ACC Men's Tennis Championship and will open play in the tournament on Friday at 3 p.m. at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The 25th-ranked Demon Deacons (18-7, 7-3 ACC) will take on the winner of the first round match between No. 6 seed Virginia Tech and No. 11 seed Boston College.
Wake Forest came from behind to beat No. 24 Clemson on the road in its regular season finale on Sunday, sealing its fourth top-three ACC finish in the past 12 seasons, but the first since 2010. The Demon Deacons have historically had success in postseason play at Cary Tennis Park, reaching the semifinals of the ACC Championship in four straight seasons from 2007-10 and advancing to the title match in 2009.
The Demon Deacons are 2-0 against Virginia Tech in ACC Championship play with quarterfinal wins in 2008 and 2009. Wake Forest has never faced Boston College in the postseason.
Tickets for the entire tournament are $14 for adults and $10 for youths and students, while single-day passes are $7 for adults and $5 for youths and students. Children age 8 and under will be admitted free.
