WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Incoming freshman Jacori Hayes recently helped the U18 U.S. Men's National Team claim second place at the Lisbon International Tournament in Portugal. Hayes was one of just 20 players called in for the trip.
The U.S. opened the tournament with a 3-0 shutout win over the Czech Republic on May 21, in which Hayes came on in the 81st minute. The Americans then tied host Portugal 1-1 on May 23 before ending the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Hungary on May 25.
Hayes, who hails from Bowie, Md., will join the Wake Forest program this fall after being the captain of the Baltimore Bays and earning high school All-America honors during his prep career.
