Wake Forest Heads to Kansas City
Wake Forest returns to the road this weekend, heading west to Kansas City to play in the Kangaroo Klassic hosted by UMKC.
The Demon Deacons take on Eastern Illinois on Friday at noon (EST) and will then play Presbyterian that night at 5 p.m. (EST). The Deacs will then go against host UMKC on Saturday at 2:30 p.m (EST).

Last Time Out
Wake Forest took two-out-of-three matches last weekend at the Fullerton Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton.
The Deacs defeated Gardner-Webb on Sept. 6 3-0 before beating William & Mary on Saturday 3-1. Wake Forest fell to Cal State Fullerton in the nightcap on Saturday 3-2 in a close match.
Kristin Grissom and Matalee Reed were named to the All-Tournament team as Reed had a combined 31 kills in the tournament while Grissom had 27.
Wake Forest Storylines
The Demon Deacons own a 5-1 record which is the best start for Wake Forest since the 2004 season when the Deacs won five out of the first six matches.
Head coach Ken Murczek directed Wake Forest to a 5-0 start which for the first time since 2000 when the team started 7-0.
Freshman Sophia Dodd has recorded 192 assists this season as she has taken over the role as starting setter.
Sophomore newcomer Matalee Reed leads the team in total points with 83.
The Opposition & Series History
This will be the second time Eastern Illinois and Wake Forest have faced each other after the two teams met in 2012 at the Marquette tournament in Milwaukee, Wisc. EIU defeated the Deacs 3-1.
Wake Forest has never played Presbyterian or UMKC.
The Demon Deacons are the only team above .500 heading into the tournament.
Next Up...
Wake Forest stays on the road next weekend, heading to the JMU Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va.
The Deacs will play JMU, Cleveland State and Campbell to close out the non-conference part of the schedule.
