Ho and Bloom prevail at UVa Ranked +1

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team had another strong showing on Saturday at the UVa Ranked +1 Invitational. Jon Ho and Sam Bloom won their consolation doubles draw, Adam Lee and Pedro Dumont nearly prevailed in their doubles final, and Ho advanced to a consolation singles final to highlight the day's action.
Ho and Bloom, who played together regularly last season, defeated Alexander Maisin and Ruben Haggai of Binghamton by a score of 8-6 to advance to the consolation Green Doubles final. The sophomore duo then downed Alejandro Gomez and Panay Jha of Kentucky, 8-6, to win the consolation title.
Senior Lee and newcomer Dumont earned a huge ranked win in the Black Doubles draw over No. 18 David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury of Memphis by a score of 8-4. But in the final, Lee and Dumont came up just short against NC State partners Robbie Mudge and Sean Weber, losing by a score of 8-7.
Ho, who played in the starting lineup as a freshman last season, continued to find success in the Orange Singles consolation bracket. He advanced to the finals, prevailing over George Washington senior Viktor Svensson, 6-2, 7-6. Ho will face Albert Wagner of Louisville on Sunday.
In more singles action, No. 86 Lee defeated UNCW junior Zach Hublitz by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 10-6. Lee will face Brett Clark of UNC, who defeated Wake Forest freshman Aws Laaribi, 7-5, 6-1 on Saturday.
Dumont also picked up a consolation singles victory, defeating Stefan Fortmann of Elon by a score of 6-4, 6-1.
Wake Forest will wrap up play in Charlottesville on Sunday.
