
Deacons wrap up play at W&M Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team wrapped up play on Sunday at the Tribe Invitational. Newcomer Kimmy Guerin scored a singles win, while Xue Zhang and Karen Forman came up just short in their singles flight finals to finish out the tournament.
Playing in her first collegiate tournament, Guerin defeated Melanie Roy of William & Mary by a score of 7-6(4), 6-2 in the Kurth draw. Guerin had played in the semifinals match of her flight on Saturday.
Returning Deacons Zhang and Forman played in the finals of their respective singles matches, but fell short on Sunday. In the Waters flight, Zhang lost to Taylor Ng of Dartmouth by a score of 6-2, 7-5. Forman fell to Utah freshman Sarah Richter in the Murano draw, 7-6, 6-2.
The Deacons will be hosting the Wake Forest Invitational at the Wake Forest Tennis Center next weekend. Admission is free.
